Vice-Principal's Message

People talk about 'having an aim in life.' Have you one ? It is a fact that those students get along better who form some definite idea of where they are going and what they are going to do.

This is a time to raise your head so that you can see some distance.

Not all are qualified to reach the very top, but everyone can rise to heights where he will be making the most of his talents. But don't be carried away by your own importance as the best bubble gum expert or penny pitcher in your class. You must aim for the top of some worth while hill.

Try to decide what your purpose in life will be. True. your ideas will change with
the years, but the student who optimistically and enthusiastically pursues his current goal, has more chance of success. People who fritter away their time are cheating themselves into bogus happiness. They are stuffing into their one irreplaceable lifetime a senseless accumulation of trash - odds and ends of sensations. fads and synthetic emotions.

Sincere congratulations to the Editors and Staff of the 1963-64 Magnet. They have produced another issue in the high tradition of their predecessors - a magazine of which all the Jarvis students and staff can be proud.
