Each year, the Jarvis Student Council does more within the school. In the 1963-64 year the Council, under the leadership of Peter Fyvie, played an important role in the organization of many activities.

The first chore which confronted the council was the setting up of a book exchange. The newly-elected members, headed by Peter Moore, began the school year in fine style by handling almost five hundred books during the four days in which the exchange was open for business. Following this, the committees for the coming year were appointed; for example: the Dance Committee under Karen Hannant and Brian Caldwell, the School Spirit Committee under Anne McEntee and Rick Heyes, the Publicity Committee under Ken Ohtake and Linda Ashikawa, and the At Home Committee under Terry Yabu.
